Iconic Goulburn Valley broadcaster and community volunteer Rod Kilgour will be remembered during a memorial service in Mooroopna on Tuesday, August 1.
Mr Kilgour is possibly best known for his sports broadcast work over decades for Radio 3SR, GMV6 television and One FM, but he also gave countless hours to numerous community groups.
They included as a volunteer driver for Shepparton FoodShare, as a news reader for Vision Australia, the author of various historical records for sporting clubs, as a tribunal member for a number of football leagues and as co-host, with his twin brother, Don, of Shepparton’s Carols by Candlelight for 26 years in succession.
Mr Kilgour passed away after illness on July 21, aged 77.
The memorial service for Mr Kilgour will be held at Merritt Funeral Services’ chapel from 2pm on Tuesday, August 1.
