Mitch Black, Zavier Maher, Jhett Cooper, Wil Norman, Sheldon Bogdan and Blake Fothergill all battled hard for the Demons in the defeat — which has both outfits with a record of 2-1 to start the year.

Hudson Kaak’s five goals stood out in the victory for the Lions, while Dylan Cook, Huw Jones and Mitch Fletcher were also impressive.

The Tigers were too good for the Bombers on Saturday, running out 15.12 (102) to 6.6 (42) winners.

●Mooroopna held sway over the Shepparton Swans for its first win of the year, securing a 14.4 (88) to 12.8 (80) result when the final siren sounded.
Henry Wedding’s four goals proved decisive for the Cats alongside stellar showings from the likes of Aidan Basile, Tom Brown and Jed Woods.
Steele Simpson’s five majors for the Swans stood out, as did the performances of Luke Whyte, Ethan Warburton and Tom Jackson.
