Mooroopna Park Primary goes solar

The 18.45 kW system will cost about $25,000 and is expected to abate 32.16 tonnes of carbon emissions per year.

This program removes the upfront costs of installing a system that may otherwise discourage schools from pursuing this option.

“This is a project that will make a big difference for our schools. It will cut emissions while at the same time cutting costs —and that is good news for everyone,” Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp said.

The Greener Government Schools Building program cost $8.8 million and is part of the Victorian Government's aim of net zero emissions by 2050.

Forty-two schools received solar power systems in 2019.

Mooroopna Park Primary School must install its new solar power system by June this year.
