But the Shepparton youngster is lucky enough to have a father with a unique talent for helping him overcome his fears.
Author David Lee, or by his pen name David James, has published his second book Light in the Dark — an illustration book that teaches children not to be afraid of the dark.
Like his first book, Calm of the Storm, he took inspiration from Sebastian.
The new illustration follows a father and son playing hide and seek, while the book also attempts to teach young children about colours.
There's also an added ‘find the star’ game throughout the book.
“Sebastian will hide in a cupboard or bedroom and close the door, that obviously gets a little dark so he tends to get frightened,” Mr Lee said.
“He'll either open the door or turn on a light, which makes it a little easy to find him,” Mr Lee said with a laugh.
“The idea stemmed from there and following on from the first book, I thought I'll do one to help stem the fear of the dark and follow the father playing hide and seek with his son.
“Sebastian loves the book; probably because the illustrations were modelled on him."
Mr Lee joked Sebastian received a free signed copy of the book.
The book is illustrated by Azante (Ivan) Zamyslov.
