Yarrawonga basketballer Maeve Connell is off to the United States to play basketball in the prestigious Nike Tournament of Champions.
Maeve, who currently plays and works at the Wodonga Basketball Association, will be visiting three cities: Dallas, Chicago and Los Angelos over 14 days,
Maeve is one of only 16 girls from across the country to be making the trip which includes a media shoot, WNBA game and college tours.
She will hit the ground running in Dallas with the first practice session at 8am the morning after landing.
The there will be four intense days of training, rest, recovery (and study) at elite facilities with high performance coaches.
After that she will travel to Chicago to compete in the prestigious Nike Tournament of Champions, held at an 85-court facility, the largest in the western hemisphere. She will play up against students from across America, Canada and Mexico.
Maeve started as a junior in the Yarrawonga Mulwala Basketball Association and for the last three years has played with the Wodonga Rep Squad as well Albury Wodonga Bandits.
In addition to her own training, she has been training and playing with the Bandits and working with Tim Madden in preparation.
