Shepparton Swans have continued their stellar run in the Youth Girls competition as they look to defend their 2022 premiership.

The reigning premier has won six games this campaign following a 10.7 (67) to 1.0 (6) rout of Shepparton United at Princess Park on Sunday.

Young gun Ellie Armstrong was judged one of her side’s top performers in the round nine triumph.

The Murray Bushranger found support from teammates Payten Johnstone and Charli Hicks, who booted four and three goals respectively.

United’s Madison Knight battled hard all match and was her side’s best player, while Leila Creevey and Jammisyn Lavis rounded out the better players.

The only blip on the Swannies’ record is a forfeit that came in round seven against ladder leader Moama.

News photographer Rechelle Zammit attended the Youth Girls encounter and captured plenty of thrills and spills.
