CEO assembles Campaspe ‘dream team’

Director corporate, Matthew McPherson: Stated with Campaspe shire in 2008 as an asset analyst, having previously worked as a financial planner and telecommunications business analyst. In 2012 took on the strategic asset manager role, then in 2022 became acting director corporate (which has finance, information communication technology, people and culture, customer service, communications, risk and audit committee portfolios). He is originally from Numurkah, has a Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering (Hons), Diploma in Financial Planning and an Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning, is treasurer on a school council and involved with children’s sporting activities.
Director infrastructure, Kate Lemon: Kate joined the former Shire of Rochester in 1990 as part-time branch librarian after having been employed as a library officer with the City of Bendigo. She is a former aged and disability services manager, public environments manager and, in 2020, became manager community business — responsible for local laws, saleyards, Port of Echuca, Echuca Caravan Park and the animal shelter. She has a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management and a Master’s in Business — becoming acting director infrastructure at Campaspe in 2022, (road maintenance and construction, project management, asset management, engineering, properties, building maintenance, parks, gardens, plant, and fleet). She lives in Rochester.
Director communities, Jo Bradshaw: She has 20 years in local government, working in community planning, policy development, regulation and service delivery. She has a proven track record in business transformation, sector reform, continuous improvement, and leading high-performing teams. She has worked across all aspects of the communities directorate including child and family health, early years, community care, economic development, tourism, libraries, youth services, festival and events, customer service, arts and culture to name a few. Jo also has a strong connection to the Campaspe community as she grew up on a dairy farm in Tongala and her family still lives in Campaspe.
Director emergency management, Shannon Maynard: Shannon is currently putting together a team of flood recovery officers, which will be based at a Flood Recovery Hub in Rochester. Campaspe Shire received $1.4 million in funding support for the development of the facility, which will also offer a mobile service to all flood-affected residents across the shire.

Campaspe Shire Council chief executive officer Pauline Gordon has all her chess pieces in place and is preparing to make her first move after last week announcing the appointment of four new executive directors at the shire.
