Emergency services were called to Northgate St in Mooroopna about 2.30pm following an "altercation" between two men.
But Detective Senior Sargeant Will Watkins said he could not confirm how the incident occurred.
"Two gentleman were involved in an altercation out the front of a hotel in Mooroopna," he said.
One person was injured in the incident and was taken to Goulburn Valley Hospital.
Police have cornered off the street as Crime Scene Detectives continue to investigate.
