Shock passing of John Richards OAM

The inaugural president of Yarrawonga District Health Board in 1990, he served 28 years on the board including 16 years in the top job.

In 2007, the John Richards Centre for Rural Ageing Research within La Trobe University, Albury Wodonga Campus was established. In 2015 Mr Richards was awarded the Degree Doctor of Science in Wodonga.

A former jackeroo, soldier and farmer, Mr Richards was also very well known in the business he successfully ran for 28 years, the Yarrawonga Newsagency.
