The event was held to allow those affected by the October 2022 floods to debrief and discuss their ongoing flood recovery efforts.
The event was well attended, with a good crowd supporting the cause.
Volunteers who helped during the crisis were also invited to attend so that they could be personally thanked for their assistance.
The evening kicked off with a free barbecue dinner, which was enjoyed by all.
The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, with people catching up and swapping stories of their flood experiences.
After dinner, the audience was treated to a couple of local speakers.
Hall committee of management president Col Grinter gave an overview of how the flood unfolded in the area and, as a flood victim himself, expressed his admiration and gratitude to the many people who assisted during and after the floods.
Kaarimba Hall sandbagging depot co-ordinator Don Sofra also spoke about the hundreds of volunteers who came forward to help, the thousands of sandbags they filled and the involvement of various local groups, including CWA and Rotary, as well as the army.
The speeches were informative and heartfelt, and served as a reminder of the incredible community spirit that emerged in the aftermath of the floods.

Barry Hinchcliffe and Gail Grinter were declared the winners on the night, and their names will be added to the Sue Sprunt Memorial trophy.
The evening was kindly supported by Farm Community Connect and NCN Health, and was enjoyed by all who attended.
It was an excellent opportunity for the community members to come together, reflect on their experiences and celebrate the fantastic efforts of those who assisted during and after the floods.
Overall, the Kaarimba/Mundoona Flood Recovery Party was a great success and served as a testament to the resilience and strength of the local community.
