He has been fabulous and flying but on Sunday during the fifth round of the Summer trophy it was ‘‘Phenomenal’’ Phil Hageman scoring 81-15-66. The Summer Trophy is awarded to the most consistent golfer over the five designated rounds throughout the summer, this year’s winner was Lindsay Hall compiling a honour board worthy 208 for his best three rounds.

HILL TOP
It was Golfers’ Revenge Day at Hill Top on Saturday when a golfer was able to set the pin positions to their choice. As it happened, it was a female golfer, Phyl Fiddes, who won the right to choose the positions and most were acceptable with the pins on the seventh and the 17th least accessible.
Scores were still excellent with the temporary greens on the 10th and 12th holes seemingly assisting good scores.
Paul Berg had the best score of the day with 88-21-67 on a countback from Bob Hunter. Coming events: Friday is the return of night golf with illuminated balls and chemically-lit sticks on flags. In past events, some impish golfers would move the golf stick into a bunker leading the golfer on the tee, who thought he had hit a good shot, to discover the uncomfortable truth. The competition is fully booked but, if there is sufficient interest, there are sure to be more opportunities. Davrod is the sponsor for the par competition on Saturday for men and women and on Monday, March 25, GV veteran golfers play at Euroa.
