Glistening rides new and old had heads turning, with the main attraction a smash hit among locals, but the major takeaway for business owner Cam Scorey was the $4100 raised for mental health charity Beyond Blue.
“It was a huge success — we had a great turnout, with 105 cars and 40 bikes, and over 350 people,” he said.
“Last year there was a spate of suicides in the area, and I’ve had my own battles with mental health, so I thought, ‘let’s raffle off some stuff and raise a bit of money’.
“Last year (the event) was a huge success, so we decided to up the ante this year.”
With plenty of moving parts behind the scenes to make the day a success — including $6000 in donated vouchers raffled off — Mr Scorey wished to thank the major sponsors of the event: M1 Traffic & Labour Services, FoodWorks Tatura, Shannons Insurance, Foott Waste Solutions, Greater Shepparton City Council, Certified Printing, Aenso Australia, Cactus Country, 7sins apparel, ZF Racing, Lyster Inc, Butter Factory Café, MadNats, Tatura Tinworks, Wisely Automotive & Rare Spares Shepparton, Strathmerton Drilling & Engineering, Leocata’s Transport, Bertolis Automotive & Agriculture, Shepparton Test and Tag Services, Fast Brew Coffee Co, Lindsay Customs and Restorations, Tatura Panels, Paint by Gashy and Certified Low.
