Organised crime detectives have charged a third man over the execution-style shooting death of 23-year-old Rami Iskander in Sydney's southwest.

Police say the man was involved in supplying the cars used in the gangland hit last year.

Mr Iskander, the nephew of murdered underworld heavyweight Mahmoud "Brownie" Ahmad, was gunned down on the driveway of his Belmore home in the early hours of May 14 and died at the scene.

Two days later police launched Taskforce Erebus to investigate a spate of deadly shootings and criminal activities by organised crime networks across Sydney.

Erebus detectives arrested a 29-year-old man at Marrickville Police Station about 6.40am on Tuesday, over Mr Iskander's death.

He was later charged with being an accessory before the fact to murder, participating in a criminal group contributing to criminal activity and using a false document to obtain property.

He was refused bail and was due to appear at Bankstown Local Court on Tuesday.

A 42-year-old man and another 29-year-old man were arrested over the crime last year and remain before the courts.
