Environmental group Beneath the Wisteria will gather at 11am on Saturday, March 4, to discuss the dilemma of having children given the looming climate crisis.
The group will be meeting in the Maude St Mall, Shepparton, in a space near Identity Menswear.
Rushworth resident and mother Louise Costa will be talking about the dilemma and why she ultimately decided to have children after grappling with the conflict.
Ms Costa said choosing motherhood deepened her commitment to do all she could to ensure her family, her community and the rest of the world could learn more about global heating.
Ms Costa is a local environmentalist and previously played a role in protecting roadside remnant vegetation throughout Victoria.
She is a past president of the Goulburn Valley Environment Group, and also a landscape gardener who has created and built a number of children’s gardens.
The event is free, open to the public and will go for about an hour.
Those attending are encouraged to bring a folding chair.
