US's Pulisic taken to hospital with injury

He was back on his feet after receiving treatment for a few minutes but did not look comfortable and was replaced by Brenden Aaronson at the break after sustaining an abdominal injury - a major blow for the Americans' knockout stage hopes.

Pulisic was subsequently taken to hospital with dizziness and to receive an abdominal scan. 

"He was taken to the hospital as a precaution," US coach Gregg Berhalter said. 

"He was feeling some dizziness. It was an abdominal wound, but below his abdomen.

"That's the American spirit, the way this group plays, and people will appreciate that."
