Black Bull Golf Course head professional James McCully equalled his best score on the championship course last Wednesday, with a plus nine.
“I’ve been lucky enough to do it a few times,” James, who almost beat his best score.
“My putt lipped out on the last for eagle.”
Playing with local professional Mal McKenna and local Lee Ramadge on the blue markers in a field of 30, the head professional registered nine birdies and nine pars, with a front nine of plus five.
The 42-year-old hit every green in regulation and advances his handicap to plus six.
He rues the covid lockdown. “Both courses (the other, of course, Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort) are obviously feeling the pressure we’re under,” James said.
“We’re looking forward to better times.”
