Urana artist exhibits in Corowa

A new exhibition of photographic works by Urana based artist Robert Sherwood Duffield has opened at Gallery 294.

Robert who recently moved to the region has already made quite an impression. His works are highly sought after, and he is represented in both public and private collections.

The works to be shown in Corowa will be from his ‘Nature’ series.

Recently, Robert had a show at the Narrandera Arts Centre, which was supported by Regional Arts NSW.

Earlier this month, Robert also received the exciting news that he is one of three NSW artists commissioned to produce a ten-minute video for ArtScreen 2021 which is a visual art project that aims to help artists with a disability develop their creative talents and create work in video format.The artworks will go on display at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia in December 2021 to mark the International Day of People with Disability.

“When I saw the congratulatory email, I was very happy to say the least!” Robert said.

“The work is from my ‘Self Study’ series that deals with the experience of anxiety which I’m sure we are all currently familiar with considering the events of the last year.

“I am very grateful for the opportunity for myself as a regional artist to be able to show my work at the Museum of Contemporary Art.”

Robert’s current exhibition at Gallery 294 in Corowa will run until March 27.
