But for coach Chris Earl, the key to defeating Central Park-St Brendan's in the round six Haisman Shield clash is simple.
“If we bat the 80 overs, I reckon we'll win it,” Earl said.
“The longer you bat the quicker the runs come, so I'll be telling the boys not to worry about the runs because they'll come, we just have to be patient and bat the overs out.”
The Tigers put up a strong total of 9-245 at Congupna Recreation Reserve last week - thanks mostly to contrasting knocks from skipper Brendan Scott (61 from 87 deliveries) and opener Andrew McMillan (46 from 158) - but will still have to bowl well to defend it against an accomplished Students top order.
Captain Felix Odell has 180 runs at 45 so far this season, including a century - one of three he has struck since October last year - and will look to lead the way for his charges once more.
“If a couple of that top six can get a start, then they've just got to go on with it,” Earl said.
“To win, we need to be turning starts into 70s and 80s.”
Callan McCabe starred with the ball last week, taking 4-40, and could also play a crucial role with bat in hand.
McCabe has managed a start in all four of his knocks this season to compile 118 runs at 29.5.
“(Callan) bowled quite well and quite quick, but Central Park batted pretty well too,” Earl said.
“We dropped a couple of chances which hurt us, but all in all it was a pretty good day.”
