With the greens in “sensational condition” and the Autumn weather so perfect, there can be very few excuses not to come bowling at YMGCR.
Plenty of events are available or just come on down with a friend and enjoy a game.
Presentation Day
A great roll up on the greens on Sunday to congratulate event winners for Season 2018-19. Presentations were made by Laurie Bridgeman (YMGCR Board) and Laureen Smith (Ovens and Murray Region Vice President).

President Kerry Kinnane also highlighted member achievements at Region and State levels showing the amazing year our members have experienced well beyond Club and Pennant competitions.
It is obvious that our excellent facilities go a long way to assist our elite bowlers in achieving their best.
State Events
6 YMGCR girls recently represented O&M at the group sides competition in Swan Hill.
At the end of the Sectional rounds O&M ended up second in Section B, narrowly missing out on the Grand Final.
The rink of Anne Miles, Claire Sanders, Rhonda Irvine, and Jodie Freund (Wangaratta) were the best performed rink overall in the competition.

Midweek A1 Pennant side is in full practice mode in preparation for their State play offs early May. Let’s get behind them at Moama as they represent YMGCR and the Ovens and Murray Region.

Wow what an afternoon of bowling – this being our last time in the auditorium, we really turned it on.
With 4 mats and some very close and exciting finishes a good day was had by all.
Only 1 team won 2 games and 4 teams could not be separated for runner up.

Yarrawonga Bowls
Our condolences go out to Ron Peacock and family this week on the loss of their son/brother. We are thinking of you all.
Dates to remember – April 19, 20, 21, 22 Easter Tournament. Entries can be for any day/s or all days.
May 5 – Yarrawonga Bowls Club AGM.
Easter Tournaments – There are sheets up at the clubhouse to put your name in for various duties.
We need plenty of people to help to make this weekend a success.
We cannot do it without help, even if you can give a small amount of your time it would be really appreciated.
We also need people to put their names down as emergencies, you may not get a game but should anything unforeseen happen, it is necessary to have people on standby.
Twilight Bowls this week is the last week. If you could bring a plate to share for supper, we will make it a sociable evening.
We will still be bowling, weather permitting. We look forward to seeing a good roll up to finish off the twilight bowls season.
Social bowls results – Monday, April 1 – Winners – R and J Hermassoo. Runners Up – R Sharp and V Kennedy. The jackpot was not claimed and will be carried over to next Monday.
Wednesday, April 3 was our monthly 2 bowl triple tournament.
Winners on the day were – R McKenzie’s team. Runners Up – K Kinnane’s team. 3rd place went to W Lowrie’s team. The best 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th games went to the teams of McDonald, A Goudge, Brincat and Calder.
Saturday, April 6 – Winners – B Batty, V Kennedy and R Neilson. Runners Up – K McQualter, R Butler and D Griffiths. The jackpot was claimed by M Essex, N Millar and J Binental.
Twilight bowls Thursday, April 4 – winners – R Andrews and R Livingston. Runners Up – D Marshall and N Borg.
This weeks games are – Wednesday, April 10 – Jackpot Triples. Saturday Social April 13 and Monday 2-4-2 April 15.
These games start at 12.30pm and names need to be down by 11am on the day.
Twilight bowls, Thursday April 11 (the last week) 6pm for a 6.30pm start.
