The 23-year-old pugilist, who fights out of Team Ellis Gym, will face off against Emirhan Cosar at Melbourne Pavilion on May 2 as part of the “Pretender to Contender” event.
When he steps onto the canvas at the Kensington venue next month, the fighter known as “Kid Brook” will be hoping to make an immediate impression on the professional stage in the super-welterweight division.
A former protégée of the late Shepparton great Dwight Ritchie, the youngster already has nearly 30 amateur matches under his belt, with these fights having spanned five countries including Norway, Poland and Iceland.
Having joined the ranks at Team Ellis Promotions upon his return from his adventures in Europe, Andresen has garnered admiration from five-time world champion Lester "The Master Blaster" Ellis since his fledgling years in the sport.
Now, the Goulburn Valley talent has confirmed that things are “on track” for his maiden professional outing in just over a couple of weeks’ time.
“It’s coming up very fast, my weight is on track, I’m feeling fit and strong,” the highly tipped fighter said on the Shepparton News Meets... podcast.
“[I’m] representing the gym alongside Tommy Fitzgerald, that’s going to be a banging fight.”
Sizing up his next opponent, Andresen outlined the credentials of 13 Rounds Gym fighter Cosar as he spoke respectfully about the man he is preparing to face.
“He’s tall so he will have that size and height advantage, but I’m not going to go in there with too much of a game plan in terms of what to do,” he said.
“A lot of the times, you can get in there first round, and it doesn’t go the way you thought it was going to go - so that can throw your plans out of the water.
“Then you panic, so I’m just going to go in there knowing that I’ve got to figure him out in that first round and then make my adjustments in the second half of the first round.“
Andresen faces Emirhan Cosar in a super-welterweight fight at the “Pretender to Contender” event at Melbourne Pavilion on May 2.
