Echuca mare Very Shamus was one of jockey Jack Hill’s three winners at Swan Hill on Sunday.

Very Shamus ($7) came from midfield nearing the home turn to win the Rating 58 (975m).

She defeated Avid General by three quarters of a length with Spiteful a close third.

The mare’s many owners include trainer Gwenda Johnstone.

Very Shamus, a last start fourth at Hanging Rock, has had 15 starts for two wins, a second and two thirds.

Jack Hill’s other winners were Vamos Rapido ($26) a first starter trained by Jody Thompson and Danali prepared by Sue Naylor.

Vamos Rapido won the Maiden Plate (1200m) from Pontmeirion and Koyuga Bound.

Danali ($3.90 fav) edged out the Enzo and Frank The Yank in a close finish to the St Patrick’s Cup (1600m).
