Experienced midfielder Frazer Dale, a former GVL and O&M interleague player, will make the move from Ovens and Murray club Myrtleford to co-coach the Swans with club veteran Tim Few.
Dale, who has spent the last two seasons at Myrtleford, had his 2025 campaign wiped out due to a knee injury, with time spent on the sideline at the Saints igniting the former Carlton players’ passion for coaching.
“Frazer joins us from Myrtleford in the O&M, bringing a wealth of experience from the AFL, state leagues, and interleague representation across both the O&M and GVL,” Katunga said in a statement.
“He’s based in Wangaratta and will be making the move with his partner Kate, who’ll be suiting up for our netball side — an exciting addition to the Swans family.
“While coaching is a new chapter for Frazer, it runs in the blood; his father (Andrew) coached successfully at both Myrtleford and Benalla.
“After spending time on the sidelines this season with injury, Frazer’s passion for coaching has taken flight, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him lead us forward in a player-coach role.”
Katunga life member and former player Few also steps up to the plate, contributing an intimate knowledge of the club and playing group.
“A familiar face who needs little introduction and has worn just about every hat at Katunga, Tim’s experience and club knowledge will be key in helping Frazer settle in and hit the ground running,” the club said.
Katunga finished 11th in 2025 with a 5-11 win-loss record.
Meanwhile, Tungamah is on the search for a replacement for at least one half of its senior coaching set-up, with Sean Johns moving on to Tatura.
