Members and supporters extend sincere condolences to Rob Browning, his mother Betty, brother Gus and families on the loss of Tony.
Tony has been suffering for some time, but when death occurs it is always a shock and the club’s thoughts are with you as you all adjust to life without Tony. Hard to imagine the club expect.
The club welcomes Jeff Armstrong back, after taking some time off to care for his wife Marg and then the sadness of her recent death.
Both Rob and Jeff are an integral part of the Tungamah Bowls Club.
Pennant;
A3s: Were at home to Swanpool, who are second on the ladder. Soundly defeated 59 to 103.
The A3s are currently on the bottom of the ladder so will need to start making up some ground.
No doubt selectors will be happy when they eventually have a full player list available. Off to Howlong on Saturday, November 8, a first trip to this new club in the Association.
B1s: A trip to Moyhu on Saturday is always an enjoyable day regardless of the result, which wasn’t positive. Going down 40 to 83 on a green that presents challenges to visitors.
Moyhu are second on the ladder and Tungamah bottom. At home to Moira on Saturday, November 8, so hopefully result will be different.
Midweek: At home to Lavington, top of the ladder. This game was reversed as Tungamah green will be out of action when they were to host Lavington in December.
They had no qualms about this change, and Tunga appreciated their cooperation. Tunga were competitive though, going down 68 to 51, getting one rink up so 2 points to the good but Tunga remain on the bottom of the ladder.
Howlong is the next match, an unknown quantity and second on the ladder. Will be an interesting trip to a new venue.
The Tungamah green was complimented by the Lavington players. A NSW based club, it was their first trip to Tungamah and found the signposts difficult.
They were surprised at the quality of the green. Tunga members explained that all work done at the club is done by members and on a voluntary basis.
The green is Tungamah’s jewel, without which they would not have an active club or somewhere for locals to both play and socialise.
Over the years various Greenkeepers have assisted and advised, when needed to maintain one of the best greens in the Oven’s and Murray.
Players and members alike treat it with the respect it deserves, like a cricket pitch any imperfections make play difficult for all.
Club Championships - have started. Keep an eye on your next opponent as this need to be completed asap. 100 UP and Club Pairs will also be starting soon and will run in conjunction with championships.

After the week off, the A2s next assignment is an away fixture at Wodonga.

Putting their RSL opponents to the sword were Laureen Smith (L), Greg Fisher (2), Anne Miles (3), and Ian Brimblecombe (S) who won 27 shots to Corowa RSL 11 shots.
The A1s are still in sixth place on the ladder and next week finally have a home fixture where they host Wangaratta.

The B1s were hosted by St. James last Saturday and it was the home side that won the day.

Well done to this rink of players who are largely new to the sport of bowls.
Until next week, good bowling.
ClubMulwala Outdoor Bowls
Midweek Pennant
Unfortunately, not a good round on the Tuesday pennant for Club Mulwala as all three teams went down.
A2 made the long trek to Kiewa to play on the carpet but going down by 14 overall and only winning the one rink. Les Spencer led his team well all day with some great skip bowling to win by seven.
The A3s were at home to Corowa RSL and struggled on all 3 rinks to lose 34 - 76.
The B2s also at home but playing Howlong fared slightly better winning one rink but down by 11 overall.
Reg Atkinson's rink was the standout winning by five shots.
Weekend Pennant
Saturday’s results were far more pleasing for Club Mulwala with two teams winning on the day.
The most pleasing was the B1s having their first win of the season winning all three rinks away at Moira.
The rink of Nicole McPherson, Bev Hulm, Peter Humphries and skip Kay Smith set the standard with 24 shot win ably supported by the rinks of Steve McPhee with +7 and Daryl Richmond +4.
The A3s and B2 played at home against Howlong and Myrtleford. The A3 game was a tight affair all day against the top of the table Howlong with each team winning two rinks.
The overall result wasn't decided until the last two ends with Andy Leferrve's rink taking a three for a +11 and Darkie Day's rink taking a four for an overall win 76 to 69.
Unfortunately, the B2s couldn't make it a trifecta losing to Myrtleford on all three rinks at home by the margin of 41 to 66.
On the local scene the finalists for the 21up singles has been decided with Gary Parker to play John Walford this week which should be a tight match.
The Club Singles draw is up so if entered please check the draw and organise your matches.
