The four-week All-Girls program has been announced for Greater Shepparton.
The AFL has announced the Greater Shepparton dates for AusKick and Superkick All Girls programs as the it looks to provide a platform for the next generation of players in regional Victoria.

Set for Kialla Recreation Reserve starting on Thursday July 23, girls aged from 2-7 are invited to take part in the AusKick program, which aims to give the children an introduction to the sport via game-based activities.
Designed for youngsters aged between 7 and 12, the Superkick program will be running in conjunction with AusKick, designed for children looking to give football a go, with a focus on developing skills and learning how to play the game.
AFL Participation Coordinator Kevin Monaghan spoke to the News about the importance of providing girls with the opportunity to play football in an inclusive and age-friendly environment.
He explained that both AusKick and SuperKick programs have been tailored to their specific age ranges in order to help children to learn how to play the game, while ensuring that they have fun in the process.
“We find splitting (the age groups) make a massive difference as the kids can play others in their own age group, with specific drills.
The All-Girls AFL AusKick and Superkick programs will be heading to Greater Shepparton.

“They can learn the basics and it gives girls the opportunity to play with other girls, meaning in the future they will not have to play in teams with boys or struggle to find a team.”
With the AFL Victoria governing body having established Under-14s girls leagues in Echuca and Shepparton in recent times, there has been a clear focus within the organization on levelling the playing field for country kids.
According to Monaghan, there has been a clear exponential increase in the participation of girls in the sport in recent years in Greater Shepparton specifically.
“There has been that increase in participation and so we are looking to offer the parthways, making the gave all-inclusive and providing those opportunities,” he added.
“It’s discounted at $35 for the four weeks and those who want to take part can scan the QR code on our flyer.”
AFL Victoria has announced a four-week-long program in total, with those interested in taking part urged to sign up on the Play HQ website.
