If Rumba (third) could back up that win by knocking off the Rams, they would go level with them on nine wins and extend the gap they have on Moama (fourth), which has the bye.
Despite acknowledging the significance of their win over Nathalia, Rumba coach Jess Bamblett said she was making sure the team wasn't getting ahead of itself.
“It gives us a little bit of confidence,” Bamblett said.
“But we don't want to get ahead of ourselves.
“The focus is on Deniliquin this week.”
Bamblett said she was expecting a tight tussle when the two teams clash at Mercury Dve.
“I think it's going to be a tough game, low-scoring, but a really close game,” she said.
“We need to shut down their shooters and be switched on at the attacking end as they are defensively strong like us."
One of Echuca United and Finley will be in the six come Saturday night when the two teams face off at Finley.
Both teams have 4-6 records, with United currently holding sixth spot by less than 10 per cent.
Tongala will be looking to leapfrog Moama on the ladder and move into the top four with a win against Barooga, while the Hawks will be hoping they win and Congupna upsets Mulwala in an attempt to climb the ladder.
Finally, Nathalia will look to respond when it tackles Cobram at home.
