Former Karramomus wicketkeeper Josh McDonald - who plies his trade for Geelong in the Victorian Premier Cricket ranks - was announced as the franchise's first marquee player last week.
McDonald has more than 3000 runs - mostly as an opener - and almost 150 dismissals for the Cats and last played for the Bloods in the 2011-12 Cricket Shepparton season.
In total for Karramomus, McDonald racked up more than 1600 runs and more than 110 dismissals.
“It's good to have Josh on board, not only because he's an old Karra boy,” team owner Nathan Delahey said.
“It wouldn't matter what team he was in, it'd be great to watch him play anywhere.
“The wheels are turning a bit more now and hopefully we can pick up another marquee through Josh.”
McDonald will reunite with former teammates Paul Trevaskis and Chris Keady - who will co-coach the Crushers - with a number of other Bloods players among selection pool for Sunday's draft at Shepparton's Sherbourne Hotel.
“They could pick up some more Karra boys, but they could go to any team really it will be interesting to see how it all goes,” Delahey said of the draft.
“But I think (the GVBBL) is onto something that could be pretty widespread and well-known really quickly.
“It's part of the reason, apart from being involved with Karramomus and enjoying cricket as a whole, that I couldn't say no when (GVBBL organiser) Dave D'Elia rang up and asked if Jarvis Delahey Contractors wanted to jump on board.”
Nominations for the inaugural Crane Aid GVBBL draft close on Thursday ahead of Sunday's event.
