Police said a pile of “debris” was lit inside a carport at the Wright Ave house, causing a fire that destroyed the carport.
Firefighters were called to the house at 1.23pm by a person who phoned 000.
Fire Rescue Victoria firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find a fire in a single-storey brick veneer carport.
An FRV spokesperson said fire crews donned breathing apparatus and extinguished the blaze.

The incident was deemed under control at 1.32pm.
Police said the fire was contained to the carport, but that it was destroyed.
The fire did not spread to the house that was attached to the carport, police said.
There was a woman at home at the house at the time, but she was not injured and is not suspected of any wrongdoing, police said.
Police are treating the fire as suspicious.
