Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit is investigating the incidents, which are believed to have taken place over the past six weeks, at facilities in Numurkah and Benalla Rds.
Detective Acting Sergeant Jess Stievano said among the items reported stolen were camper trailers.
“We’re asking people to check their storage units and take photos of everything in them,” Det Act Sgt Stievano said.
“Be mindful of people following you in (the gates) and not using codes.”
Det Act Sgt Stievano said, in some cases, padlocks had been cut open to gain access to units and been replaced afterwards, most likely to avoid drawing suspicion.
Given the nature of long-term storage, and visits to units often long periods apart, it’s possible some renters are not yet aware their units have been targeted.
Anyone who has witnessed suspicious activity or has dashcam footage that may be of assistance to police is asked to contact Detective Acting Sergeant Jess Stievano at Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit on 5820 5777, or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or by submitting a confidential report online at crimestoppersvic.com.au
