Police said the car had been travelling north on the Goulburn Valley Hwy, just north of Congupna, when the driver attempted to turn into a driveway but ended up in a channel about 2.30pm.
The woman driving the car was able to get out of the car herself.
She was assessed by ambulance officers at the scene, but did not have any serious injuries and did not need to be taken to hospital, police said.
The Ford Focus car was removed from the channel by a tow truck.
An overtaking lane on the highway was closed for a short time, but the other lanes in each direction remained open.
