The father, a Shepparton man who wishes to remain anonymous, said he was driving north on Wyndham St at around 5.45pm on February 24 in the right-hand lane near the traffic lights at the Numurkah Rd intersection.
The man said an off-road motorcycle was being driven erratically with two people on it as it came up between cars and close to his vehicle.
He moved to the left lane, then, he said, a scooter motorcycle appeared beside his car and its balaclava-clad rider pulled out a knife and gestured towards him.
He called 000 to report the incident.
He continued driving north on to Numurkah Rd and was stopped at a red light at the Pine Rd intersection when he said he saw a gold-coloured Holden VT Commodore in front of him, which pulled over with the motorcycles.
After driving past the vehicles, the man says the Commodore followed him, so he made the decision to turn on to Wanganui Rd, where the Commodore got so close behind him he could no longer see it from the rearview mirror of his 4WD.
He sped up, exceeding the speed limit, in an attempt to lose the Commodore.
He said it eventually pulled over but that he could still see it parked on the side of Wanganui Rd when he reached the Kittles Rd turnoff.
In the meantime, the man said police had called him to let him know they’d been dispatched, but had been diverted to another incident when they were near the 7-Eleven on Numurkah Rd.
At lunchtime the next day, he said he had not heard from police to follow up the incident.
He said his son was now frightened to get back in the car after the ordeal.
When the man had to leave the house that same night, his son became upset and worriedly questioned his mum: “What if they find Dad again?”
Shepparton police said they were aware of the incident and were investigating.
