I am writing concerning the empty houses/units in Parkside Estate, Shepparton.
All the time in the newspapers you read about the shortage of houses for lower income people and families.
The Victorian Department of Housing is not doing its job by allowing these houses/units to stand empty and then they get vandalised to the stage that they have to be demolished and rebuilt.
If they were repaired, if needed, as soon as they were vacated, and someone put in them, there wouldn’t be any need to be such have a large amount of money spent on making them liveable again.
Some of the other houses need inspections and the residents given help to clean up their yards.
