Musicians aged 12 to 25 in solo acts, duos or bands are eligible to compete in the heat, which will be held at Avenel Memorial Hall on Saturday, October 17 from 2pm.
The winner of the Avenel heat will progress to the North East Battle of the Bands Grand Final in Benalla.
Strathbogie Shire Mayor Scott Jeffery said the event was a great opportunity for young people to build their confidence and gain valuable performance experience.
“Across our shire, we have some incredibly talented young people, and Battle of the Bands gives them an opportunity to get out of the rehearsal room and on to the stage,” Cr Jeffery said.
“You don’t need to be part of an established band to get involved. Whether you perform solo, with a friend or as part of a band, we’d love to see our young musicians put themselves forward.”
Council is encouraging parents, teachers, friends and community members who know a talented young musician to spread the word and encourage them to register.
