Crashes common at scene of double fatality, resident says

The male driver and female passenger in one of the vehicles died at the scene, while a second female passenger in the same vehicle, aged in her 70s, was airlifted to hospital.

The driver of the second vehicle was transported to hospital by road with serious injuries, while his passenger, an adult male, was airlifted to hospital, also with serious injuries.

The resident heard the crash, and said four ambulances attended the scene, alongside Tatura SES, Shepparton Search and Rescue and police personnel.

The resident said the road was closed following the crash and reopened on Sunday.

Victoria Police’s Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating to establish the circumstances of the collision.
