Wooden trucks fire up juniors

Yarrawonga Fire Brigade – CFA has received a unique boost for junior training with two small, quality, steel fire trucks.

The fire brigade’s community engagement officer Renee Parkes leads teh brigades 10 juniors and approached the Yarrawonga Men’s Shed about making the two fire trucks.

The trucks run along a hose line with youngsters squirting the back of the truck outside the building,“ Renee said.

“It’s about accuracy, and one of our fun activities to keep the kids as interested as possible.

“They love it, and they will be good to use for community events.

“They’re popping up around CFA brigades all over Victoria.”

Men’s Shed secretary John White emphasised members’ desire to connect with the community.

“Yarrawonga Fire Brigade is such an invaluable community organisation to the town’s well-being and we were only too happy to make the fire trucks,” Mr White said.
