As a result of the third stage of upgrades to the Shepparton line, V/Line is encouraging passengers to allow up to 75 minutes of extra travel time for their journey.
Replacement coaches will begin operating on Sunday, September 7, and cease on Tuesday, September 16.
Scheduled replacement coaches on V/Line services
Sunday, September 7 to Friday, September 12: replacement coaches will operate between Seymour and Shepparton
Sunday, September 7 to Friday, September 12: replacement coaches will operate between Southern Cross and Seymour
Saturday, September 13 to Tuesday, September 16: replacement coaches will operate between Seymour and Shepparton
The Department of Transport and Planning said replacement coaches would be a mix of express, semi-express and stopping-all-stations services, and would not stop at Essendon Station.
Works on the Shepparton line include installing and testing signalling equipment along the rail corridor, removing redundant equipment and installing a radio tower at Seymour Station.
Night works will also take place to replace the horizontal supports that lie underneath the rails, known as sleepers, along sections of the Seymour line between Donnybrook and Seymour, as well as track maintenance.
Later this year, a major construction blitz will take place to commission the signalling system and complete works on the Shepparton line upgrade.
Exact dates for the blitz are yet to be released.
The upgrade is being undertaken to enable more services to operate on the Shepparton line.
