The road was closed between Seven Creeks Dve and Edgewater Rd on the morning of Tuesday, July 11.
It is not the only road closure in Shepparton at the moment.
Part of Old Dookie Rd remains closed as works continue on the intersection of Andrew Fairley Ave, Lockwood Rd, Old Dookie Rd and the SPC entrance.
The works include upgrading the current roundabout to a full signalised intersection that will allow full truck turning movements in each direction and increase safety for all users, in particular regular pedestrian traffic.
Changing road closures as part of the works include:
- Old Dookie Rd will remain closed until Friday, July 14.
- Old Dookie Rd will reopen and Lockwood Rd will be closed to traffic entering and exiting the roundabout from Monday, July 17, to Tuesday, August 1.
- The roundabout will be closed to all traffic from Wednesday, August 2, to Friday, August 11.
Greater Shepparton City Council said as the works encroached on other areas of the intersection, traffic control would be utilised to maintain the flow of traffic.
Access to SPC and the adjacent homes and businesses will be maintained for the duration of works; however, motorists are advised to expect delays, and detours will be in place.
To ensure the safety of all working and travelling near the site, the intersection will be under strict traffic management throughout the duration of works, and council reminds residents to obey all traffic management direction and signage.
