No stranger to the art world, Christine Broersen has spent 30 years working professionally, with her work recognised across Australia.
This month, her second episode of the Australian art-focused TV series Colour In Your Life is set for release.
Colour In Your Life showcases professional artists, their creative processes and the stories behind their work.
The series aims to inspire viewers, teach practical techniques and celebrate the diversity of artistic styles across Australia and beyond.
Welcoming producer and host Sophia Stacey, along with award-winning filmmaker Josh Northeast, into her studio, Christine described the experience as incredible — even taking the crew on a tour of Shepparton while filming.
“Being filmed for the first time for Colour In Your Life was terrifying, but I settled in and felt I did okay,” Christine said.
“The second time, I was much more relaxed, and knowing my host, Sophia, and my cameraman, Josh, made it easier and fun.
“I found it difficult to listen to my own voice and awkward watching myself, but I’ve since learned not to take myself too seriously and to see it through my future grandchildren’s eyes.”
Sophia Stacey is also deeply rooted in the art world, having worked on the series since 2011 and travelling the globe with original host Graeme Stevenson before his passing in 2022.
The series has filmed nearly 300 artists across seven countries and has received numerous accolades.
However, Sophia said Christine’s work stood out.
“The moment you see her work, you can recognise the master artist that she is, and it was an absolute pleasure to be in her studio again,” she said.
“She has such a gentle, grounded presence, and you can really feel her passion for her craft the moment she starts talking about it.
“A standout moment for me was watching Christine work with pastels up close — the way she builds light and softness, layer by layer — it was meditative and inspiring.
“You realise very quickly that Christine’s paintings aren’t just technically beautiful — they’re shaped by decades of life experience, dedication and heart. It felt less like filming a TV episode and more like being welcomed into her world.”
Christine’s new episode will be released in mid-December, and the best way to watch is on YouTube.

“When watching this episode, I hope viewers will see what a lovely medium pastels are and feel inspired to give them a try — or try any medium, really — and have some fun creating,” Christine said.
“Being a pastelist for 30 years has been rewarding, but lately, I’ve been doing more acrylics and oils, which I’m also enjoying.
“I see myself taking up watercolours in the near future, so there’s no time to get bored — just more to get excited about.”

“I would love to come back to Shepparton and the local area to film more artists, as I believe there are a lot of exceptional artists living in rural Victoria,” Sophia said.
“I have had the honour of filming Ken Done, Ernie Dingo and some of the world’s most famous artists.
“I am currently speaking with artists in Jamaica, Portugal, Africa, India, the UK, the USA, the Maldives and of course Australia, all excited to be featured on Colour In Your Life.
“I would love to hear from any artists who are ready to take part.”
