As part of the vigils held across the country, members of the local community came together one week on from the discovery of the little girl’s body in Alice Springs.
Event organiser Chrissie Chirgwin said about 30 to 40 people from all walks of life were in attendance.
“It was all people. It wasn't just the Aboriginal community. It was everyone,” Mrs Chirgwin said.
“Everyone was saddened and just wanted to come and pay their respects.”
Even when it started raining, Mrs Chirgwin said that attendees remained to quietly grieve.

“Everyone said that in comparison to what Kumanjayi has gone through, we can stand out in the rain and the cold,” she said.
Mrs Chirgwin said she wanted to pass on her thanks to the Shepparton community.
“It was a beautiful vigil, and it was really nice to see lots of new faces standing in solidarity with us,” she said.
“I came away really proud of the sense of community that we have here.”
