Locals and visitors are encouraged to save the date and get ready for two days of shopping, entertainment and family fun at the Summer City Market.
The event will take in the Maude St precinct in Shepparton’s CBD, running on Friday, February 27 from 9am to 5pm, and Saturday, February 28 from 9am to 2pm.
People can expect special sales at local shops, market stalls, live music, food and kids’ activities.
City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali encouraged people to attend and shop local.
“The Summer City Market is a wonderful chance for the community to come together, enjoy the final days of summer and activate our local economy, support businesses and stallholders,” he said.
“We’re looking forward to seeing the CBD buzzing with people enjoying free entertainment, family activities and great shopping.”
Yanha Gurtji ward councillor Fern Summer said events such as the market were vital for supporting local businesses and activating public spaces.
Council place manager Bonnie McIntosh said the Summer City Market was the perfect opportunity for businesses in the precinct to connect with the community and promote their services and products.
“We encourage everyone to join in the activities and entertainment taking place across the two-day event,” she said.
“There will be giant games, an interactive animal display for the kids to enjoy, as well as live music and great shopping opportunities.”
Maude St between Fryers St and High St will be closed to traffic from 6am on Friday, February 27, and will reopen at 4.30pm on Saturday, February 28.
