Shepparton Lions Club recently hosted the Victorian Leo Summit, which showcased the public speaking abilities of talented students from across the region.

The summit, held at Melbourne University’s Shepparton campus, attracted 70 participants from Melbourne and beyond, all eager to demonstrate their skills in front of a panel of esteemed judges.

The judges from the Greater Shepparton region included multicultural liaison officer Leading Senior Constable Leigh Johnson from Shepparton Police Station, Furphy Engineering project manager Pravin Urudra and Dr Selina Quilty.
They had the unenviable task of selecting the winner from the many talented speakers, with Clarissa Wong named Leo of the Year.
“The day was very successful and full of very talented students showing their professionalism and public speaking abilities,” Shepparton Lions president Patsy Lansdown said.
Large crowd: Around 70 people travelled to the summit.

Ms Lansdown acknowledged the hard work and dedication of Victorian Leo chair Lee Wakington and the students who helped organise it.
She also expressed her gratitude to the university and Greater Shepparton City Council for providing such a “fantastic venue” for the event.
The summit’s success was a testament to the organisation’s commitment to supporting young people in the community and throughout the state.
