The Apex Club of Cobram Barooga Winter Ball is set to arrive this month, bringing with it a night of great food, music and company for a good cause.
Club president David Kelly said it was a special event on the Apex calendar.
“It’s a great night out, where people have the chance to dress up, socialise, have a great dinner, dance and have a lot of fun,” Mr Kelly said.
“Winter can be a really cold time when you don’t really feel like going out, so this is a great excuse to get out and hang out with people.”
It may not yet be spring, but the good times are sure to bloom at the ball, which this year will be held at the Cobram Civic Centre.
Proceeds from the event are going back into the community through the YAL Post-Secondary Scholarship, a partnership between the Apex Club and the Young Australia League.

The $8000 scholarship will allow a student from the 3644 postcode to get started achieving their dreams of studying at university or TAFE.
“We know that it’s difficult for people in Cobram and other country towns to get to university,” Mr Kelly said.
“Rent is expensive, education expenses are high, so this scholarship just helps students from the area to go on and achieve their dream.”
The Winter Ball, which as a licensed event is open only to over-18s, will be held on Saturday, August 16, with doors opening at 6pm.
