The outdoor art experience will see two- to three-metre sculptures placed along the Murray River banks to form a trail for visitors to explore.
While the event will officially open on Saturday, December 13, Sandstorm Events has arrived in town to start bringing the sculptures together.
Sand sculptor Jino Van Bruissesen is one of five sculptors who have been busy sculpting since Monday, December 1.
He is currently working on a dual sculpture of the Cheshire Cat and the Caterpillar at the rear end of the Echuca library.
Mr Van Bruissesen said people passing by had taken an interest in his work.
“Most people are curious, which is good,” he said.
“People get excited about something different.”

Community members may have noticed fenced-off piles of sand placed throughout the Port of Echuca, Aquatic Reserve and Moama Soundshell in preparation for the sculptors.
The sand, provided by Rocksolid Gardening Supplies, has been compacted and layered before sculpting began to ensure the sculptures remain solid over the coming weeks.
Each sculptor will work on two different sculptures from 8am to 5pm each day.
Alongside the Caterpillar and Cheshire Cat, there will also be the White Rabbit, the Queen of Hearts and her card soldiers and Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum.
At the Moama Soundshell, visitors can take a closer look at Alice hosting her famous tea party.
The sculptors will continue to work on their sculptures up until Friday, December 12 before the event officially kicks off.
