O’Keeffe calls for ‘immediate action’ on Kialla West road safety

Ms O’Keeffe cited an accident that occurred five years ago, which resulted in severe injuries to a family and a student of the school.

“The safety of our children and families at Kialla West Primary School must be a priority,” Ms O’Keeffe said.

“It is so important that the government take immediate action to prevent any further accidents.

“The crossing is located on a major highway and thoroughfare and has seen an increase in traffic flow due to new housing developments in Kialla, making it a concern for the community.

“This situation not only highlights the immediate need for improved safety measures at the Kialla West Primary School but also stresses the need for the Shepparton bypass.

“Accommodating for the growth of our region is essential, and ensuring the safety of our residents, especially our children, is non-negotiable.”
