Mooroopna veterans celebrated with Anzac Day morning tea

The Mooroopna Hall was filled with the scent of rosemary and members of the community on Anzac Day for a morning tea celebrating veterans from the local area.

The event was held by the Kiwanis Club of Mooroopna in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Mooroopna.

The attendees enjoyed a spread of sandwiches, cakes, Anzac biscuits, lamingtons and scones.

Kiwanis publicity officer Tony Nappa said “we like seeing the young people here to honour the fallen”.

“It keeps memories of the fallen alive and shows the younger generation the sacrifice needed to protect our way of life,” he said.

The Kiwanis Club of Mooroopna has a strong relationship with the Mooroopna Hall, which declined to charge for the use of the space.

In thanks, the Kiwanis club presented the hall committee with a power washer from Total Tools for use on an outdoor walkway that needs frequent cleaning.
