The show promises to bust a few ageing myths wide open, blending humour with heart across topics including health, wellbeing, travel and those all-too-familiar senior moments.
Ms Dullard, who grew up on a farm near Pine Grove outside Echuca, has been performing comedy for more than two decades.
“I've been a comedian for about 23 years or something like that, somewhere around there, not exactly sure,” she said.
Her path to the stage began early.
“We had to have a teacher thing to see what you were going to do when you finished school, and we had this new fellow there and he said, ‘What do you want to be when you grow up?’ and I said, ‘A comedian.’”
After finishing school, Ms Dullard spent time overseas before returning to Australia and finding her footing on the comedy circuit.
“When I got back, there were all these comedians I knew from seeing them and I said, ‘Can I just have a tight five?’” she said.
“And then I rode home all the way after the gig, no hands; it was just tremendous.”
Ms Dullard has performed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and toured nationally with the Comedy Road Show.
She is also a children's librarian; a role she said complements her comedy work.
“The combination of comedy and kids is lovely,” she said.
The show — at 1.30pm on Thursday, September 17 at Campaspe Library, Echuca — is part of the Retirees on the River Festival, running until September 18.
Ms Dullard said audiences of all ages turn up at her shows, with some attendees aged 99 or 100.
“I think people think, I don’t feel that old and here I am over 55-plus,” she said.
“They all think this is our spot where we can say what we like, which is lovely.”
Admission is free, but bookings are required by contacting Campaspe Library on 03 5481 2400 or email libraries@campaspe.vic.gov.au.
