With rehearsals in full swing, a talented cast of 43 local young performers has been hard at work bringing Disney’s much-loved story to life ahead of next month’s performances.
Bursting with spectacular songs, colourful costumes and high-energy dance numbers, Moana Jr follows the fearless Moana as she embarks on an epic journey across the Pacific Ocean to save her island.
Along the way, she discovers friendship, bravery and the courage to shape her own destiny.
Molli Johns and Alisha Beavis are directing EMTC’s production of Moana Jr.
Co-director Alisha Beavis said the show had something for everyone.
“Moana Jr is funny, adventurous, uplifting and full of heart. Its messages about courage, identity, family and finding your own path resonate with audiences of all ages,” she said.
"Our young performers have thrown themselves into this production and we can’t wait for audiences to see what they’ve created."
Co-director Molli Johns said the production had provided an invaluable opportunity for local young people to develop their skills both on and off the stage while working alongside an experienced creative team and the wider EMTC community.
“This is a show you won’t want to miss,” she said.
“It has vibrant choreography, colourful costumes, familiar songs and plenty of laughs. Moana Jr is a celebration of young talent and the magic of live theatre.”
Moana Jr will take to the stage at Echuca Paramount for five performances from October 23 to 25.
