There’s one word on new Merrigum coach Jaydon Stiles’ lips.
Versatility.
He said he couldn’t wait for round one to kick off, with a new group capable of playing all positions.
“It’s a fresh start all around. Some players who have played backline might find themself in the midfield or forward, and that kind of utility makes it really easy for me,” Stiles said.
He said he would be able to move the magnets around at will, and that it would create a different dimension for other teams to have to deal with.
“The boys are training well, it’s an exciting group and I’m seeing good things at training,” Stiles said.
“I would love to get a few more numbers at training, but that’s about it.
“We’re going to have a different game style, similar game plan but a lot more structured, so we’re going to be very competitive.”
The Bulldogs have experienced a busy off-season which has been headlined by a raft of player changes.
Stiles has brought a number of players along to the club, while a couple of handy Kyabram reserves football talents have made the jump across.
The main drawcard for 2023 is a one-off appearance by former AFL star Dane Swan on June 17 against Avenel.
