“I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.
“This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. For, there is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus.” (1 Tim 2: 2-5 NLT).
Let’s all take notice of the words of this passage, and pray for all people - especially for the leaders of our country and give thanks for them.
What should we pray for?
We must pray that leaders come to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.
It’s Godly leadership that will produce a Godly nation - a nation that will live in peace and thrive under the hand of Almighty God.
Let’s also ask Jesus to pray for our leaders.
The best part of this passage is that God wants all people to be saved.
If we want to be reconciled to the God who created the heavens and the Earth, and everything in it, we have to recognise Jesus as the one who gave up everything for humanity.
Jesus is the one and only true God.
