Many members from the Deniliquin community and beyond were in attendance for Jan Stanmore’s 80th birthday surprise party at the Deniliquin RSL Sporting Complex on Saturday, August 9 from 2pm.

The party was organised in secret by Jan’s son Danny, in co-ordination with family and friends.
A lovely afternoon tea spread was served up, with some guests travelling from Braidwood, Gisborne, Wagga Wagga and Moama to attend.
Another highlight was the wedding cake-style birthday cake, handmade after months of preparation and planning.
Reflecting on the party, birthday girl Jan said it was “very good” and “such a surprise”.
