This year’s theme, ‘Ignite your potential’, highlights the transformative power of learning and the unwavering commitment of educators to help every student thrive.
Public Education Week is a time for communities to come together and recognise the incredible work happening in public schools - from early learning centres to Year 12 classrooms.
It’s a celebration of inclusive education, dedicated staff, and the innovative programs that empower students to reach their full potential.
It also offers families a unique opportunity to engage with their local schools.
Common Education Week events include open days, student showcases, and community events, which allow parents, carers, and community members to witness firsthand the creativity, care, and excellence that define NSW public education.
Throughout this week, schools will honour the contributions of teachers, support staff, and students.
Special attention will be given to programs supporting high potential and gifted learners, as well as initiatives that foster inclusive and culturally rich learning environments.
The NSW Department of Education is encouraging schools and families to share their experiences on social media using the hashtag #IgniteYourPotential.
For more information about some of the schools in our area are included in this seven page NSW public Education Week feature.
